Get hands on guidance with your next (or first) sewing project. Check out the list of suggested projects below or contact me to design a session tailored to whatever you’re currently interested in learning about. Private lessons are offered in your home or vacation rental in the Manzanita/Nehalem/Wheeler area.
Intro to Sewing: Machine Basics
Learn how to thread your machine and bobbin, how to check and adjust your tension, how to pick the right needle for your project, how to adjust stitch length and type (and why you might want to.)

Intro to Sewing: Tote Bag or Zipper Pouch
Make a simple tote bag or zipper pouch as a learning project to explore construction techniques, basic tools and equipment, fabric grain and how to lay out and cut a sewing pattern, selecting stitch length and type, and how to finish the raw edges of your fabric.
2-3 hours
Repair Clinic: Mend - Hem - Patch
Get guidance and hands on help with your repair and alteration projects.
Ecco Underwear Workshop
Make your own underwear using the Ecco High Waist Full Cut Sewing Pattern. Learn how to work with knit fabric, how to make pattern adjustments perfectly tailored to your measurements, and how to install elastic trim or fabric binding for a comfortable, customizable design you’ll want to sew up again and again.
4-6 hours
Pacific Pants Workshop
Make your own pair of elevated lounge pants using the Pacific Pants Sewing Pattern. This beginner-friendly design offers a challenging but accessible project that’s a great first garment project for ambitions beginners. We’ll cover how to make pattern adjustments and walk through each step of construction process together.
8-12 hours
Rates
Private lesson rates are $65/hour for groups of up to four.
Tools, equipment, and materials are not provided, although I’m happy to provide guidance in preparing for your class, and can provide fabric and other materials for an extra fee.
